Explorer's Art

Explorer's Art (3-5 years)

Just for little hands, Explorer’s Art is all about exploring Art ! Refining gross motor skills and experimenting, exploring and creating with tactile media, this programme introduces the world of art to as young as 3 years old.

Core Art

Core Art (5 years +)

Come hone your art and craft skills in Core Art, which is dedicated to inspiring, developing and creating masterpieces for children between 5 to 11 years old.  Looking at a variety of media from 2D planning and painting to 3D constructing and sculpting.

Ready-Set-Draw!

Ready-Set-Draw! (8 years +)

Want to improve your current drawing skills or add new skills to your repertoire? Learn how to ‘lift’ your drawings off the page with techniques in perspective, shading, hatching and weighted line, along with proper proportion! 

 

With a bit of observation and imagination, drawing will become the most FUNdamental art form!

Sculpture Culture

Sculpture Culture (8 years +)

Combining a variety of new materials to build, stick, layer, construct, mould and shape, Sculpture Culture is all about getting your hands dirty and your brain scheming!  Students will enter a higher level of three dimensional sculpture developments from concept devising to 3D sketching as Sculpture Culture teaches you to be a tactile spatial artist!

Ceramic Fanatics

Ceramic Fanatics ( 10 years +)

Ceramic Fanatics takes a route into self-led clay building and modelling for novice ceramic sculptors. Bringing inspirational, personal ideas to the creative table, participants will take on ambitious outcomes in material processes and scale. Introductions to new decorative strategies such as coloured slips, glazes, and surface decoration is the focus, with exploration of vessel-making techniques from hand building, coiling, slab building and throwing.

Sketchbook Studies

Sketchbook Studies ( 10 years +)

Get back to the basics in learning Fine Art techniques with Sketchbook Studies.  For artists 10 years and above, come improve upon observational drawing skills, mark-making techniques, perspective, linear and tonal drawing as well as a collaboration of traditional and contemporary painting methods.

FotoFundamentals

Digital Photography ( 10 years +)

Learn how to use your digital camera to take REAL photos!  FotoFundamentals is designed to introduce the basics of digital photography for new and not-so-new avid young photographers.  You will learn the ins and outs of your very own camera as well as how to improve those "not-so-perfect" shots.

Pulp Fiction - Comic Drawing

Pulp Fiction - Comic Art ( 10 years +)

Pulp Fiction is all about experiencing the creative process involved in comic art production from scripting, structuring, and designing ideas into a storyboard.  The course offers a better understanding of how to synergize creative writing with visual concepts.

The Digital Hub

Digital:Hub ( 10 years +)

The visual world around us is rapidly changing pace. Artists are moving into the Digital Age with skills in Graphic Design, Digital Illustration, Animation and Film-making.

Mentor Studio

Mentor Studio ( 13 years +)

All artists aged 13 – 18 years old are welcome to come work directly with our art mentors to successfully achieve a personal portfolio. Whether for iGSCE, GCSE, IB, A-Level, AP Level, school or university application or just for fun, we offer instruction in a variety of techniques from photography, painting to ceramics and textiles, alongside in depth discussions about artistic concepts and histories.

Portfolio Building

Portfolio Building ( 13 years +)

Students who are transferring to a new school or getting ready to apply to art school will work together with our Mentors to fulfil their portfolio requirements (which vary by school and by major).  Our Mentors have extensive knowledge in portfolio requirements for University and can coach prospective student to meet these requirements. 

 

Get guidance in producing paintings, drawings and three-dimensional works and build an impressive collection of work from various media.  Holidays are perfect time to brush up and catch up on compiling an art portfolio.  Contact CMW for special sessions.

Architectural Studies

Architectural Studies (13 years +)

Studies in form, building, structure and light in Exterior and Interior Architecture.

Tactile Taxtiles

Tactile Textiles (13 years +)

Proposes to go beyond the Visual to provide awareness of the sense of touch through Textural and Textile techniques and processes.  

 

Designed for students, aged 13 years +, who have a basic knowledge of art practices. Broad range of textile processes on which to base the exploration of works be they fine art, art and design, or textile design pieces. Cover the use of conventional and innovative materials and processes in Sewing – Stitching – Weaving – Knitting – Embroidery – Felting – Printing – Appliqué – Batik.

Adult Creative Workshops

Adult creative workshops are provided to discover new skills or to purely relax and create in a non-intimidating and inspiring environment.  Our morning workshops cover a wide variety of disciplines that are coached in house by our team of practicing artists. 

 

Media, techniques, and styles include: Oil painting/Acrylic/ Watercolour (portrait, landscape, abstract), Ceramics (hand building and throwing), Observational drawing (ink, pen, pencil), Textiles/Felting, Printmaking (lino, woodcut), Digital Photography and Darkroom processing.

 

Whether you are an accomplished artist trying to expand your experiences, an aspiring artist looking for inspiration, or an undiscovered artist, you will profit from the wealth of methods and materials available in these workshops:

 

 

 

 

Painting Studio

For those who’d love to learn how to paint, but don’t know where to start.  You will be guided through different painting projects every 4 weeks, from portrait, landscape to still life with oil, acrylic, or watercolour. Explore the infinite possibilities of paint in our light and spacious studio under professional guidance.

 

 

 

 

Creativity Studio

For those who have a clear vision of an art project but would like to explore and experiment with professional assistance.  We hope to inspire, stretch your artistic will, and expand your artistic experiences.  The challenge is to increase your knowledge of methods, materials, techniques, and possibilities and to dare you to reach beyond what is known and familiar to you.
